Availability Requirements

Line Rehearsal: Saturday, May 30, 2026, 1-5 pm, Vallejo, CA

Tech Rehearsal: Friday, June 5, 2026, 6-9pm, Vallejo, CA

This rehearsal will incorporate the music track.

The Reading: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 6-10 pm, Vallejo, CA

The performance begins at 7 in front of a live audience. Q&A will follow.


Roles and Actors

Everyone is Italian! Race, ethnicity, and body type do not matter.

Male - Antonio Vivaldi - all ages

The Baroque master. A passionate, devout, and wildly talented composer and violinist who falls in love despite being a priest.

Female - Isabella Andreini - 20-40

The world's first actress, a star of commedia dell'arte and renowned writer of love letters. The love of Antonio's life, married to Francesco.

Male - Bishop Romulus, Stradivari, and other roles

The Bishop is a hard-core product of Rome and a Machiavellian figure, who supports then ultimately destroys Antonio. Other key roles include Antonio Stradivari at 90 years old.

Male - Francesco Andreini, Giovanni Vivaldi, and other roles

Francesco is the fiery leader of Isabella's troupe, and cruel to her. Other key roles include Antonio's beloved father, Giovanni.

Female - Anna Giro, Madame Stader, and other roles

Anna is the young and talented protege of Antonio's, hopelessly in love with him. Other key roles include the midwife Madame Stader and the commedia dell'arte servant, Zannia. Ages vary. 


What to Bring to the Audition

One minute of a classical monologue, such as Shakespeare, Moliere, etc.

One minute of a modern monologue or one minute of singing a cappella.

A piano is available if you wish to bring an accompanist.

Email your bio, headshot, music skills, and fluency in foreign languages.


What Do You Get?

$350 for full participation, intensive work, and fun times.
